That's why we're here to help.
Surgery. Illness. A sudden injury. No one expects or wants these things to happen. But they do.
So if it happens to you we'll be there. Whenever you need a helping hand. A cheerful smile. A warm touch. And a delicious hot meal delivered right to your doorstep!
For those who have been homebound for a long time, the delivery of a hot meal in the middle of the day may be the only connection they have with the outside world. For others, momentarily sidelined for a few days or weeks, the arrival of a delicious meal can be a precious lifeline that allows them to get on their feet again.
To receive a brochure describing in more detail the Meals on Wheels program sponsored by Peninsula Volunteers, call 650.323.2022 or visit us at 800 Middle Avenue, in Menlo Park, CA. Once perceived as a program for only the indigent or poor, Meals on Wheels is, in fact, available to anyone who can't cook for themselves.
Meals on Wheels offers so much more than food... it's more like home cooking without the fuss.
Our Assessment Specialist will visit with you and design an eating plan just right for your health and recovery needs.
Using recipes made from "scratch" and featuring fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, each nutritious meal is prepared in the Peninsula Volunteers kitchen and provides one-third of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of current dietary guidelines.
We care about your health and your safety. That's why we make it easy for you.
Since the program is supported by Peninsula Volunteers Funds along with county funding, the suggested donation is $4.25 per meal. Donations are greatly appreciated but no one is turned away because of an inability to pay.
